Garrison Fewell

After starting his musical career as a violinist at the age of eight, he rotated to guitar quite late, at the age of 18 . In September 2007 he started a graduate course at the 'Accademia Musica Moderna in Turin, studying with Marco Roagna and Dario Chiazzolino, receiving a Bachelor and the two-years degree in 2012.

In 2010 he was admitted to the BA in Jazz guitar at the "G. Verdi" under the tutelage of such renowned educators as Furio Di Castri, Dado Moroni, Gianpaolo Casati, Emanuele Cisi, Luigi Tessarollo and Bebo Ferra. In 2014 he attended the Mastering Jazz Guitar at the "Accademia del Suono" in Milan, studying with Andrea Pozza, Riccardo Fioravanti and Stefano Bagnoli.

From 2014 to 2015 he studied at the Accademia Internazionale “Civici Corsi di Jazz" in Milan under the guidance of Riccardo Bianchi, Gabriele Comeglio, Marco Vaggi and Tony Arco.

He studied at the world leading Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London for the Postgraduate Programm in Jazz Performance, under the tutelage of such renowned educators as Colin Oxley, John Parricelli, Mike Outram, Malcom Edmonstone, Scott Stroman, Martin Hathaway, Carlos Lopez-Real, Barak Schmool and Trevor Tomkins.

He also had the opportunity to be tutored by Garrison Fewell (Berklee College of Music), Barry Greene (University of North Florida), Bebo Ferra, Bruce Forman, Luciano Zadro, Alberto Marsico, Tony Arco, Aldo Zunino and Mauro Battisti.

He has played at the Valenza Jazz Festival in 2013, Torino Jazz Festival 2014- 2015-2016; Break in Jazz in 2015, EFG London Jazz Festival 2016. Has been touring in Scotland, Bulgaria, Ireland, Austria, UK and Italy.

In June 2013 he won with the formation "Jacopo Albini Quartet" the first prize at the Valenza jazz contest.

In 2015 was selected, along with a pianist and double bass player, during the Barolo Jazz Contest as one of the most talented musician and in June of the same year, he was selected by the teachers of the Juilliard School of Music (N.Y.) to represent, on the main stage of the Torino Jazz Festival, along with other musicians, the workshop held by Juilliard School of Music.
